The Problem Nobody Was Solving

Walk into a large industrial manufacturing plant in Ireland and you will find, in most cases, extraordinary physical infrastructure — precision machinery, skilled operators, decades of accumulated process knowledge — sitting on top of a data and communications layer that would not look out of place in the 1990s. Production data lives in spreadsheets. Shift handovers happen on paper. Operations across different departments and sites are coordinated by phone call, whiteboard and institutional memory. The machines are advanced. The systems connecting them are not.

That was the observation that led three former Dell manufacturing leaders — Tim Crowe, Ken Sheehan and Jennifer Kelly — to found WrxFlo in Limerick in 2019. All three had spent careers inside large-scale industrial operations and had lived the daily friction of a manufacturing world where the information needed to make better decisions existed somewhere in the building but was almost never in a usable form at the moment it was needed. WrxFlo's solution is an AI-powered platform that connects and digitalises operations for large industrial manufacturers and logistics businesses — pulling data from across production lines, logistics networks and operational teams, making it visible in real time, and using AI to surface the insights that allow managers and operators to make faster, better decisions without having to manually compile information from a dozen different sources.

The Raise and What It Means

Earlier in July 2026, WrxFlo confirmed a €3 million funding round led by Elkstone, with participation from existing investors Furthr VC and Enterprise Ireland alongside angel investors. The round gives WrxFlo the capital to execute on the two strategic priorities that its revenue traction and client results have demonstrated are ready for scale: expanding into the UK and US markets, and growing the team from its current 60 employees to 200 by 2028.

The client results the company can point to are the kind of numbers that make the pitch to new enterprise customers straightforward. Clients using the WrxFlo platform have reported up to 40% reductions in operational costs and 25% productivity improvements across production lines — figures that, at the scale of industrial manufacturing operations, represent very significant absolute savings rather than marginal efficiency gains. For a factory running on tight margins in a competitive sector, a 40% operational cost reduction is not an incremental improvement. It is a structural change in the economics of the operation.

Why Limerick, Why Now

WrxFlo's Limerick base positions it within the Midwest manufacturing corridor that includes significant concentrations of pharmaceutical, medical device and precision engineering operations — all sectors with complex, multi-step manufacturing processes where the kind of operational visibility WrxFlo provides has direct commercial value. The company's founding team's Dell background also gives it credibility and existing relationships in the large-scale operations world that a software startup without manufacturing DNA would take years to build.

The funding environment for Irish manufacturing software is also notably supportive in 2026. Ireland now has 2,099 startups and scale-ups employing 45,652 people, with 51% of jobs outside Dublin, which means the ecosystem is bigger than one city and still growing through regional hubs. WrxFlo, operating from Limerick with a client base across Irish and international manufacturing, is exactly the kind of regional technology company that the ecosystem data points to as a defining characteristic of Ireland's current startup moment.

The Bottom Line

WrxFlo has built something that manufacturing companies actually need and are willing to pay for — an AI platform that makes their operations visible, connected and measurably more efficient, with client results of up to 40% cost reduction to prove it. The €3 million raise from Elkstone and Enterprise Ireland gives it the runway to bring that platform to the UK and US markets, where the manufacturing digitalisation opportunity is orders of magnitude larger than the Irish market alone.
